Hi I would like to experiment with IRLP and building CENTOS etc.  I have been
wondering about the hardware requirements, is it possible to run a test setup
using a Kenwood handheld and then put something better on later on.  I am just
wondering about the COS requirement and if normal handhelds have everything
that is required for keying up the transmitter and activating when there's a
signal etc?
 
Looking forward to IRLP and putting an application into the RSGB comittee for
internet linking nodes very soon, just want to  be sure I know what I need
first?  If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it.
